When we think of Easter food we often think of chocolate eggs or original hot cross buns, and as much as we LOVE these tasty treats, we think it’s about time to experiment with some new Easter recipes!

Bunny Breads

500g crusty white bread mix
1 sprinkle Flour
1 egg, beaten
200g ready to use royal icing
1 small handful Chocolate dots
1 small handful butterfly sprinkles
1 small handful micro mallows

Easter Biscuits

200g plain flour
100g semolina
100g caster sugar
1 lemon, finely grated zest only
200g butter, cold
300g ready-to-roll icing
2 food colouring, we used pink and yellow
1 pack writing icing pens

Easter Chick Lollipops

150g butter
150g soft brown sugar
175g Carnation condensed milk
1 medium egg
225g plain flour
125g self-raising flour
1 tsp mixed spice
1 lemon, finely grated zest only
200g icing sugar
2 tbsp Carmation condensed milk
1 yellow food colouring
1 chocolate & caramel writing icing
1 bag jelly sweets
1 pack hundreds and thousands

Chocolate Hot Cross Buns

150ml semi-skimmed milk
2 tsp dried active yeast
400g strong white flour
2 tsp baking powder
3 tsp mixed spice
100g caster sugar
200g chocolate chips (mix things up with dark or white chocolate if you like)
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons honey
150g white chocolate

Easter Bunny Cake

180g light brown soft sugar
2 eggs
120ml sunflower oil
200g self-raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground mixed spice
200g carrots, grated
1 orange, finely grated zest only
150g white chocolate (for the icing), broken into cubes
200ml double cream (for the icing)
200g light soft cheese (for the icing)
100g desiccated coconut (for the fluffy fur)
2 sweets or chocolate buttons (for the eyes)
1 Handful marshmallows (for the nose and tail)
6 sweet sticks (for the whiskers)
